PF/PCA to Host The EastShore Chorale on November 17 in Simmons Hall

The Swissvale-based EastShore Chorale, will perform at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts with it’s Aspects of Love concert.  Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Eric Whitacre, Thomas Tallis, and Ysaye Barnwell, spanning from Renaissance to Jazz. Come enjoy and support our exciting new choral group!

PITTSBURGH, PA (November 1, 2018) – PF/PCA is pleased to announce that a concert performance by The EastShore Chorale will take place in Simmons Hall at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts on Saturday, November 17 at 7:00pm. The EastShore Chorale is a project of Eastman Community Projects (ECP), a non-profit whose mission is to help communities become more Art Centric via design, music, art installations, community programs, and events.

The performance will be preceded by a cocktail hour during which guests can socialize and browse the offerings of the PCA Holiday Shop, an expanded version of the retail shop at PCA which offers gifts at all price points by a variety of local and regional artists.

Artist John Eastman will open the concert with two recent writings about The Aspects of Love. In addition to the singing performance, Internationally known violinist, Jennifer Orchard who has called Pittsburgh her home since 2001, will perform a single piece as a tribute to victims, survivors, family members, of The Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill. She is a member of the first violin section of the Pittsburgh Symphony and also the Clarion Quartet, which focuses on music of suppressed composers, mainly Jewish composers who suffered exile and execution at the hand of the Nazis.

The EastShore Chorale is happy to announce that Pub In the Park (www.thepubinthepark.com) in Swissvale has become one of our sponsors. Pub in the Park is located on the corner of Nevada St and Blackhawk St, just a few blocks from the home of the choir. We appreciate this relationship greatly and plan to make the pub one of our regular hangouts after rehearsals and Sunday events for a great beer selection and good food.

Auditions for Community Choir — The EastShore Chorale. www.eastshorechorale.com
Interested in joining a vibrant community choir in Swissvale and dramatically improving your singing? The EastShore Chorale is holding our second major round of auditions for people interested in singing with us. We currently have 31 choir members and are looking to build on each section of the choir, especially basses and tenors.

Auditions are Friday August 10th starting at 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM prompt.
Where: The Swissvale Presbyterian Church 1825 Monongahela Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15218 Side Entry of Church on Monongahela Ave. (Sunday supply room) Come meet our choir director Ben Filippone, and say hello to community members who are interested in joining. Each audition takes a few minutes, so please expect some wait time. We at The EastShore Chorale are thrilled with our progress so far since our official formulation date of June 15th, 2018.
